Vasileios Georgalakis Psychiatrist-Psychotherapist
I was born and raised in Athens.
After I finished medical school, I practiced the obligatory rural service in the community clinic of St. Konstantinou Fthiotidos. I specialized in Pathology at Crete’s Naval Hospital, in Neurology at the 1st Ika of Athens and in Psychiatry at Nikaias State Hospital and at the Psychiatric Clinic of Attica in three different departments : 10th Psychiatric department of acute rehabilitation unit, 10th alcoholic detox unit and at the Psychogeriatric section.
I received my Psychotherapeutic training in Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy in Eginition Psychiatric hospital and in Schema Therapy in America at the Cognitive Therapy center of New Jersey and the New Jersey Institute for Schema Therapy with Jeffrey Young and Wendy Behary where I received an advanced training Certification in Schema Therapy.

I have taken part in a number of scientific publications and announcements in foreign and Greek magazines, as well as in psychiatric and psychotherapeutic conferences.
I have also received training in Mindfulness and in a stress reduction program in California and at the Omega Institute of new York at the center for mindfulness in medicine, health care and society at the university of Massachusetts medical school.
In the past, I have worked as a consultant psychiatrist in a private Psychiatric clinic and as a scientific officer responsible for psychosocial rehabilitation structures and mobile mental health units.
Today, I’m a Psychiatrist in two psychosocial rehabilitation structures where I’m responsible for the psychiatric medication of 30 patients and also staff education on the basic principles of psychotherapy.
