GUIDED IMAGERY
There is no greater tragedy than to die without having lived with fantasy
The therapist asks the patient to imagine scenes with colors, sounds, scents and feelings. The scene can be pleasant (to reduce anxiety) or unpleasant (for supremacy over the stress). This method has been used for the treatment of patients with general anxiety disorder, post traumatic stress disorder and phobias, and also for panic attacks. It has also been used as an adjuvant therapy in somatic symptom disorders.
-We are our imagination. Our own existence consists of how we imagine ourselves… There is no greater tragedy than to die without having lived with fantasy.-
